‘Baby John’ Now Streaming: Varun Dhawan & Keerthy Suresh’s Film Debuts on Prime Video

Baby John:-Varun Dhawan’s action packed entertainer, Baby John, has officially arrived on OTT, just six weeks after its theatrical release. Despite a lukewarm box office performance, this remake of Atlee’s Tamil blockbuster Theri now aims to reach a wider audience through streaming.Amazon Prime Video announced on Wednesday the exclusive global streaming premiere of Baby John, directed by Kalees. The film features an ensemble cast, including Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, and Jackie Shroff, with special appearances by Salman Khan and Sanya Malhotra. Presented by Jio Studios in collaboration with Atlee and Cine1 Studios, Baby John is produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande.

A Gripping Tale of Sacrifice and Survival

Baby John follows the intense story of DCP Satya Verma, who fakes his death to protect his daughter from the dangerous politician Babbar Sher. However, when old enemies resurface, Satya must confront his past and risk everything to safeguard his family. The film is now streaming on Prime Video from February 19.

Speaking about Baby John’s OTT release, Varun Dhawan shared, “Baby John is a major milestone in my career, challenging me both physically and as an actor. Leading a high octane action film and working with a visionary like Atlee has been an incredible experience, drawing inspiration from legendary action icons of Indian cinema. Box Office Performance and Reception

Initially announced in 2023 under the working title VD18, Baby John was released in theaters on December 25. However, mixed to negative reviews impacted its box office trajectory. The film opened with ₹11.25 crore on its first day but saw a sharp decline to ₹4.25 crore on the second day. Wrapping up its theatrical run in under three weeks, Baby John garnered a worldwide gross of ₹61 crore falling significantly short of its reported ₹150 crore budget.
