Dragon Trailer: Pradeep Ranganathan Struggles with 48 Backlogs as College’s Most ‘Reckless and Irresponsible’ Student

Dragon:-Director Ashwath Marimuthu’s Dragon follows the story of the most “irresponsible, atrocious, reckless, and useless” student from the fictional AGS College of Engineering’s 2018 batch. Set for a theatrical release, the film promises a perfect blend of commercial entertainment. The recently unveiled 138 second trailer teases a thrilling journey, focusing on a young man whose reckless choices spiral his life into chaos.

The Downfall of Ragavan

The promo opens by exploring what led Ragavan (Pradeep Ranganathan) to earn the title of a “bad boy,” but it quickly reveals the depths of his downfall. A notorious troublemaker, he constantly stirs up chaos, gets into fights, and holds a staggering 48 backlogged papers in engineering something he proudly flaunts as a badge of honor. However, reality soon catches up with him, making him realize that while his antics made him infamous in college, they hold no value in the real world. Despite his reckless ways, his devoted parents remain his strongest support system, willing to go to any lengths to help him succeed.

A Harsh Reality Check

At one point, even his girlfriend bluntly tells him that while he may be a great lover, he will never make a good life partner because he is a “failure.” This brutal truth forces Ragavan to face the reality that he has become little more than a joke a cautionary tale of what not to be. Determined to change his fate, he embarks on a journey of self transformation, and the rest of the trailer offers glimpses of his relentless pursuit to prove himself.

Star Studded Cast & Creative Team

Written and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu renowned for Oh My Kadavule (2020) and its Telugu remake Ori Devuda (2022) Dragon boasts a star studded cast, including Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, George Maryan, KS Ravikumar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Mysskin in pivotal roles. Produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh under AGS Entertainment, the film features music by Leon James, cinematography by Niketh Bommi, and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.

Dragon is set to hit theaters on February 21.
